It's assumed in the RWBY universe that semblance relates to aura, so maybe aura should function similarly to semblance?

Perhaps you devise a base aura (defensive, healing, etc.) and you can tack on other abilities (strength and speed amplifiers, etc.) if you pay lien, but instead of creating a training thread perhaps you are simply granted the ability to use more as you complete missions, and the KINDS of extras you have access to are determined by how many missions of each difficulty you've completed.

It would be kind of like an ability tree in an RPG. You have base abilities you have access to early on, and other, better abilities become available as you complete missions and continue to upgrade yourself.

I say leave Aura untouched until we know more about it. Just explain why characters can be tossed hundreds of meters through the air and perform their absurd acrobatic movements with aura. These 'humans' are already anime-buff as cardboard no need to give any character on this site the ability to insta buff himself.

If you were to implement Aura though, I would say make it an invisible shield that does not recharge and shields the user from damage until depleted. In the show people didn't seem to be injured, not until their aura was gone at least, so its safe to assume that this is ONE of its effects and it is one we know about. Just make sure to maybe give monsters a certain damage range so that players know how much percentage a single hit would minimal deplete their Aura by and make sure to not make any monsters dmg. hit below 15 %.
