Ten Moons’ main form is that of an ornate guan dao polearm approximately 6’10” in length with the blade included, a bit taller than Yin Yuling is himself.  It’s primarily colors are fittingly the same as its wielder’s personal colors of blue and silver, though that should come as no surprise seeing as how he designed and constructed the Foldable Frame weapon himself during his time at Sanctum Academy.  It’s been with him ever since then, admittedly not without a bit of repair through the ages and perhaps still with a knick or two in the blade but no doubt as sharp as it ever was.  

As a weapon of a generation past though, the integration of Foldable Frame technology isn’t quite as complete as a something you might find engineered and forged today.  Rather than transforming completely into a secondary mode, Ten Moons’ structure only has a limited amount of variable geometry, its jointed shaft folding to an angle at two points one quarter of the way from the top and bottom, becoming a long bow... of sorts.  More on that in the functions section.

If the weapon continues folding along a number of other joints on the shaft, the four sections rest against one another and it enters its ‘sheathed’ mode, small enough to store under Yu’s robes or professor’s lab coat.  Somehow.  

Weapon Functions: Ten Moons’ primary function in its guan dao form should be no surprise to anybody who’s seen a finely sharpened blade on a long stick before-- It cuts, and can cut rather seriously in the hands of Yin Yuling, twirling it through his fingers and around his body at impressive speeds and in confounding figurations.  However, what separates the polearm from just any standard blade on a stick are it’s dust storage compartments which, in conjunction with its wielder’s aura, can be used to upgrade just any old slash into one of great force or augment a tap of the pole into an event of earthshaking proportions.  

In its secondary form as a long bow, Yu has elected to forego physical ammunition and the need for a bowstring, instead opting to again use his aura to fire streams of activated white dust at his enemies.  These pale beams of energy can curve through the sky at the lancer’s command, allowing him to track an opponent in some small way and increase his accuracy.  There is a bit of a tradeoff though-- The dust bolts don’t usually have the same sort of lethality that an old-fashioned metal arrowhead has, a standard one amounting only to what feels like a strong punch.  Even if he can let them loose in rapid succession, they’re usually best relegated to providing a tactical advantage or long range support fire for an ally.
