Hello everyone!

It has been a while. I was hoping that I could make the site start up again by it's 1st birthday, but that didn't work out. Sorry for that.

We're moving! Instead of revamping the whole site, we are moving to a new one, this time on proboards. (I apologize in advance if you are trying to read a thread you participated in but found that it has been deleted) The new site is still under development. So, if you are interested and want to get more information on the site like the progress on that, just send a pm to me.

CHARACTER SHEET

Full Name: Akane Izumi

Nickname: Aka, Aka-nee (her "co-workers" sometimes call her this), Izumi (she prefers that strangers and acquaintances address her by her surname, because that's how she was raised to address others)
Age: 22 (she looks closer to 15)

Race: Human / Faunus (Inland Taipan)

Aura Color: Varying shades of purple, swirled together in a slightly cloudy and uneven mixture that resembles smoke.

Physical: Akane is a shorter, smaller girl, lacking in physical maturity for the most part. Despite that, her legs and arms are packed with dense, toned muscle from her years of "working". Her skin is a light tan color, and has various scars in different stages of healing all over her body - most notably in her arms. Her eyes are a vibrant magenta with slit pupils, signifying her reptilian nature. Her hair is brunette and short, cut at the shoulders and styled in a very particular way, with her bangs brushed inwards towards her face, and the rest brushed outwards. She wears a small gray hairclip with her signature magenta "Biohazard Beauty" symbol stone on it.

Everywhere she goes, she wears the same outfit. A black midriff hoodie, with magenta stitching around the pockets, down the sleeves, and around the cuffs, zipped up to just below her collarbone, with a darker purple lining on the inside, and her signature symbol printed on the back in magenta. Underneath is a dark purple tank (which she also sleeps in). Her special gauntlets are worn over her sleeves, with the rubber sealing cuffs right below her elbow. The gauntlets are a dark silver-violet metal trimmed with a more prominent dark purple, with clawed fingers and a raised wrist guard on the back. On her lower half, she wears a pair of dark gray-navy gym spats with a silver belt with another, larger black nylon utility belt over it, which houses her vials of poison. There is a long, magenta ribbon tied at the back of her belt, for decoration. She wears a pair of over-knee socks as well, the same color as her shorts, with a magenta stripe down the side. A pair of lightweight metal shin and knee guards adorn her lower legs, used for more solid kicks rather than actual defense, that open up into an open-toe metal-bottom leather-padded sort of sandal, with a pair of dark magenta socks adorning her actual feet.

Fighting Style: Though her low defensive capabilities and utter lack of strength would suggest otherwise, Akane is a frontline fighter. She uses her small, quick form to get within her enemy’s effective guard range and releases a flurry of cuts and stabs at blinding speed at every little opening, every single crack in the armor that she can find. She thinks unnaturally quickly thanks to her years of fending entirely for herself, allowing her to pretty much instantly assess her enemy's guarding and attacking skill. She’s sadistic, never flat-out killing her enemies, but always leaving them pumped full of enough poison that they will die - eventually. She throws in a mixture of non-traditional knife fighting (learned on the streets) and traditional martial arts (mainly leg techniques) in order to keep her opponents on their toes. She likes to have fun with her fights as well, and loves it when she’s hurt, but people who use dirty tricks are deplorable in her eyes (hypocrite).

She fights the creatures of Grimm with a cold indifference as she finds it exceedingly boring, so much so that she considers it a waste of her skills.

Personality: Snake, spider, mosquito. Whatever you may call her, Akane is a nasty and venomous girl on the outside. Her not-quite-grim-not-quite-upbeat outlook on the world and her general sadistic nature lead her to pick at people as much as she can to find their flaws, which she then uses against people whenever and wherever she can. In a weird and sort of scary way, she socializes the same way she fights - rushing in immediately, throwing out quick, venom-soaked slashes and stabs, doing everything she can to maim, or at least hurt, her "opponents". She's not looking to make friends, she fully owns that, but she respects people who look past her prickly exterior. She's a loyal person, not quite a drop-everything-at-a-moment's-notice kind of loyal, but the kind of person that will help you out if you need her to. That being said, her only real friend nowadays is her adoptive father Daisuke.
Goals: Keep Daisuke happy.
Fears:
Daisuke - Despite being the closest thing to a real father she’s ever had, she’s absolutely terrified of Daisuke’s level of influence. She knows fully well that, at any time, with the snap of his fingers, he could have her killed - and no one would question it.
Intimacy and Friendship - She no longer trusts people enough to tell them about herself and "let them in". She'll be friendly and outgoing, but won't truly open up.
Bad Habits:
Intimidating Features - Akane pretty much only ever scowls menacingly or smiles creepily, there's really not much in between. It's not that she wants to, it's just how she is.
Distraction - Akane's attention span is low concerning things she doesn't enjoy. Classes? Homework? Booooring!
Likes:
Terrorizing - Akane is an intimidating person to many people, and she’s well aware of that. She constantly messes with people who are scared of her because she finds it “fun”.
Pain - Having an abnormally high pain tolerance, Akane loves when she’s become hurt enough to the point where she can feel it again. She finds it exhilarating and enjoyable, but enough pain will still hinder her.
Spicy Foods - Maybe it’s her masochistic nature, maybe it’s something else entirely, but she loves spicy things, especially spicy meats.
Dislikes:
Humans - Like many faunus, Akane has a severe distrust of the human race and will often refuse to interact with them in any way if it can be helped.
Alcohol - Seeing what alcohol could do to her mother has pretty much turned her away from the idea of ever trying it.

History: From a young age, Akane Izumi was accustomed to the evils of Remnant. Born a half-Faunus half-human she didn’t fit in anywhere, and was picked on by human and Faunus alike. Her mother, Kaoru, cared deeply for her daughter, but very rarely had time for her. Because she was a single parent in the slums, and was paid poorly because of her own Faunus heritage, Kaoru had to work two jobs to keep them afloat. She would leave home the minute Akane left for school, and would return at ungodly hours, too exhausted to even change clothes most of the time. Akane saw her mother's struggle from an early age and, as she grew, tried her best to help alleviate her mother's stress. When her mother turned to alcohol and became violent, often blaming her daughter for their poor situation, Akane would stay away from the house for days at a time, stealing food and sleeping amongst garbage heaps in lieu of home-cooked meals and a comfy bed. She often got into fights out on the streets like this, and she picked up a good deal of skill fighting with her fists and legs, and with a knife.

On one of her romps out on the street, around the ripe, young age of 12, Akane was struck from behind and knocked out. When she came to, she was in a room with a number of men all dressed in fancy suits, armed with knives and guns. They told her that she was going to be sold to a very rich man, one that would "treat her right". Akane knew what exactly this kind of thing was, and viciously resisted. After breaking her bonds, she killed every single man in that room using a mixture of methodical approaches concerning weapons and good old-fashioned street brawling. Their boss, watching from a one-way window, was very impressed with Akane's skill. He stepped out into the room, unarmed and surrendered, and offered her a job working for him - a VERY high-paying job. Thus began her career as a thug for the infamous druglord Daisuke Shinonome. Over the next few years, as she grew into a teenager, Akane began to work for Daisuke's ring. Originally just a legbreaker, she was ultimately sent along with a team on elimination missions, where she picked up a variety of stealth and combat techniques far more refined than her basic brawler style. She was tested and tested and tested on these missions, and excelled at them to the point where Daisuke would send her out alone. She rose up through the ranks quickly, ultimately settling at a comfy spot right next to the big boss himself as his private assassin. Her incredible monetary gains allowed her mother to quit her second job and drop her alcoholism, and allowed them to bond and spend time together properly.

Through the years, her inquiries about who her father was had been dismissed by her mother, who would always say that she would tell Akane when she was "more mature". As she reached 16 years of age, Kaoru decided that Akane was old enough to know the truth. She told Akane all about the rather unsavory and hurtful interaction between the two of them, how she had never actually known who he was, how he had told her that "no one would believe" her claims because she was a Faunus accusing a human. Kaoru apologized for keeping it a secret for so long, but Akane understood. She vowed to herself that she would make it right, that she would bring down this man who had caused her mother so much grief. Using her various underground resources, Akane was able to back-trace her DNA to find potential matches for her father. Once she had narrowed it down to a single man, a rich weapon parts salesman in Vale by the name of Gregor Tourman, she asked Daisuke for the proper documentation to pay the man a visit.

She approached the man within his mansion home, under the premise of being a call girl that he had ordered. Once they were alone and the doors were locked, she revealed to him who she really was and why she was there. Akane quickly realized, after his confused and angry ranting ended up in nothing more than racist slurs and empty threats, that this Gregor guy was a horrible person that deserved no second chances, and executed him on the spot. She returned home later that night, happy as can be, and broke the news of the man's untimely demise to Kaoru. What she DIDN’T expect, however, was her mother's hysterical reply. She yelled and screamed and chastised her daughter, demanding to know why and how she did what she did. Akane told Kaoru that she only did what she thought her mother wanted her to do, but Kaoru was not convinced. She questioned Akane about her mysterious line of work, a question which she had never honestly answered before. She told her mother the truth, about everything from the kidnapping to the meeting with Gregor,and Kaoru was stunned. She called her daughter a killer, a monster, and renounced her then and there.

Akane snapped. Tears streaming down her face, she pinned her mother to the ground and held a gun to her head. "Everything I did, I did for you….I….I couldn’t STAND not having you home...not seeing you happy….I take away your stress, I make your life better and easier….and this is the thanks I get? Thank you, mommy dearest! I think I get it now! You never loved me at all, did you? I was just a reminder of that man that hurt you, that life that you lost years ago when you had me, wasn’t I? You never wanted me! You would’ve gotten rid of me had you been given a chance, wouldn’t you? Because I was a burden. I was just another mouth to feed, another job to work, another person to support. I see it now. I see the truth of it all. I don’t need you anymore. Goodbye, mommy!

She executed her mother in the same manner as her biological father. After packing up what little of her belongs she wished to keep, she sought sanctuary within the Shinonome compound. She came to Daisuke, cold, alone, and without purpose in her life, completely vulnerable. Daisuke promised to take her in, not as an employee, but as a….daughter. This was the turning point of her life, the bright side of this hell that had been brought upon her. She still had a family, a family she was willing to give everything for if need be. Daisuke wanted her to have a relatively normal life, but also wished for her to continue her “training”, and so he sought out a facility in which she could hone her assassin abilities. He settled upon Beacon, though not a school specifically for her skillset, it would nonetheless teach her valuable combat abilities and grant her a certain level of freedom with which to experiment with her techniques. He forged her documents and sent her off on her way on her nineteenth birthday, one in a series of many presents.

As part of her parting gift, Daisuke arranged for an expert weaponsmith to design a set of special weapons for her own private use, along with a formula for a homemade poison based off of the natural venom that her body produces.

Hello Akane,

I have reviewed your application. I have used several different word counters to go count your personality, just to make sure that none of them were seeing wrong. Unfortunately, your personality description fell a bit short on the required word count. Don't fret though, it is just 3-4 words short.
