RWBY News #33 | Tue Apr 21, 2015 2:45 am by Echo Valorient | Hello everyone!
It has been a while. I was hoping that I could make the site start up again by it's 1st birthday, but that didn't work out. Sorry for that.
We're moving! Instead of revamping the whole site, we are moving to a new one, this time on proboards. (I apologize in advance if you are trying to read a thread you participated in but found that it has been deleted) The new site is still under development. So, if you are interested and want to get more information on the site like the progress on that, just send a pm to me.
If you are looking for a thread or any threads had been deleted, just send me a pm as well.

| RWBY ROLEPLAY CHARACTER SHEET
Full Name: Sombra Azrael Nickname: The War Hound Age: 25 Birthday: 10-10 Race: Human Aura: Offense Aura Color: Blood Red Semblance: - Elemental Consumption:
Type: Offensive Description: Sombra is able to ingest dust in either crystal or dust form and augment his attacks with that given element. Each element lasts for 10 posts before another crystal/dust container can be ingested again. It is possible for him to combine two diffrent dust colors, but the effects are very unstable and dangerous until his body is used to dealing with it. It takes him seven times for his body to get used to a new dust color and 10 for color combinations. He is barely able to fight after the effects expire while he is getting used to them. How it represents you: Sombra is always trying to push himself to be stronger both physically, spiritually, and emotionally. The painful process of integrating dust into his body is a small sacrifice to pay for the strength that he would gain from it. /font]
Physical: Sombra towers over people with his imposing seven foot tall frame His body is made of three hundred and fifty pounds of pure muscle. His muscles bulge from his body. His skin is very tan from traveling from one battlefield to another. His hair is long reaching all to the middle of his back. It is a light shade of blue. All over his body are tattoos that will glow when he uses his semblance and aura. When they are not glowing they are a few shades different from his skin tone which could make them easily mistaken for scares if noticed at all. His eyes are red and seem to be in a perpetual scowl. He doesn't wear a shirt over his chest and only wears a pair of shredded loose fitting pants held with a large belt. One his feet he wears a pair of heavy boots. The heaviest he could manage to find.
Weapon: Bare Fists Fighting Style: He charges in over powering his opponent with his shear brutal strength. Eyes: red Hair: blue Height: 7'0" Weight: 350lbs
Personality: Sombra is a man of few words. He doesn't seem to care about anything that is going on around him. He is usually laid back conserving his strength. He is straight forward with what he wants, and at times can seem polite. He doesn't seem to anger easily. Instead of getting angry if someone insults him or anything like that, he would laugh. A vicious animalistic gleam will appear in his red eyes as he gets exited for a challenge.
Sombra would jump at the chance to fight. If someone looks strong, he would go and force a challenge out right. He would ridicule his potential challengers until they decided to fight him. When he is in the fight, he would fight trying to hold back being just powerful enough to get the job done, though he wants to be able to use it all. If an opponent doesn't meet his expectations he would either kill them out right, or leave them for whatever fate would bring them next. Sombra had only regretted one thing in his life and wants to atone for it.
Goals: Find an opponent that he can fight full power with. He wants to atone for a single sin. Fears: Dying before he could atone, and Cryogenic Cells.
Bad Habits: Seeking fight, and underestimating the fragility of things around him Likes: Power, Fighting, the moon Dislikes: Weaklings, ice, police
Parents: Saras (deceased) Rowland (deceased) Siblings: none
History: Since his early childhood, Sombra had to survive on the streets. It was a rough life one that many children his age would not survive. He had one advantage that other children did not. He had his abnormal strength. He was smart enough to capitalize on it when he could. He would do favors for local restaurant owners and other people hoping for some reward. It was not always successful, but he did make it better than doing nothing or scrounging for scraps in the garbage.
This semi-success did not come without challenges of its own. Other orphans would try to steal his earnings, as well as street punks looking for an easy target. He would always fight back. He knew that it was him or them out in the streets. Again he was not always successful on winning those fights. He could win the one on one fights easily enough, but it was when he would be jumped by three or four people at once that he had the disadvantage. At the end of such fights, he would lay on the ground beaten and bloodied. It would hurt to move, but he would always find shelter to nurse his injuries the best he was able.
With each defeat he grew stronger, with each victory he grew stronger. He constantly grew stronger as he got older, and as his strength grew so too did his appetite for fighting. He would purposefully piss off a group of people hoping to fight them. Their punches and kicks were like marshmallows against a brick wall. Soon the street gangs had their eyes on him.
He went from gang to gang taking the life as a mercenary of sorts. He would help one gang fight another for money and a place to crash for a few days. Once his job was complete he would set off for the next one. Other gangs sent men to kill him. They saw him as a threat to their power and tried to end him, but no matter who was sent after him, he would walk away.
After a few years an emptiness grew inside of him. He was more than able to survive on his own now, and the gangs were too weak to provide any decent challenge for him. He would go to amateur fighters looking for fights. After a few wins, he was picked up by a fighting coach. Sombra insisted that he fight the toughest guys he could no matter what his coach said. He would compromise with him at first and fight who he got to build his reputation. Within two years he had entered the big times. He fought the best of the best trading blows just to try to feel something. But like in the streets, he soon felt empty. These professionals were too comfortable with rules and safety. They were no challenge now.
When he was twenty he entered the armed forces of a small nation. They were at war with another nation over territory. Nothing he cared about, but it gave him plenty of bodies to fight. He would disobey orders constantly in order to fight. Instead of retreating, he would charge the charging enemy ranks. Instead of bunkering down during enemy salvos, he walked through it in his constant search for his worthy foe. Once the war was over, he left that country to find another in conflict. He didn't bother joining a particular side this time, he just walked into the battle field killing anyone that got in his way. He would take out both armies strongest fighters, soon his name was spoken with fear in ever military.
A coalition was formed for the sole purpose of bringing Sombra down. They didn't want to kill him incase someone ever came up that demanded his strength. The scientists of the nations pooled their recourses into one plan. They would lure Sombra out and seal him within a large cryogenic cell. With their plan in set they headed out to bait the trap and seal Sombra Azrael for good.
One day as the sun was starting to set. Sombra walked through the piles of the dead that he had just slain. More weakling trash. He kicked a corpse out of frustration. He heard a gasp as the body hit the ground drawing his attention. He looked to where the body landed and a small girl was laying among the dead trying to pass herself off as one. He went to her and knelt down putting his hand on her head. He felt sorry for her. He knew how hard it was for one so young to have to struggle for life. He picked her up in his strong arms and headed to an abandoned building.
They sat there for a few minutes. She stayed huddled in the corner terrified of him. He saw his reflection in her eyes. He saw the blood covered animal that he had become. Was that what he truly become? Was that what he was destined to be? Seemingly for the first time in his life, a tear rolled down his cheek. Before it could make it to his chin. A soft, small hand wiped it away. He looked up seeing the girl kneeling in front of him. He smiled laughing in his gruff voice. She soon chimed in with her soft light voice.
Hours soon turned into days that they stayed together. Neither of them hand anywhere to go, nor anyone to look out for them except each other. Sombra learned of the girl's plights. Her parents were killed in this battle. They were just caught in the middle no one cared about the innocent bystanders. That was before he showed up, but to her it was almost as if he was sent to avenge them. For the first time, Sombra was happy. He didn't feel like he needed to fight to feel something. He had Diana to look out for and to care for.
In the early morning explosions could be heard. Men shouting and weapons firing could be heard. The coalition's plan was to cause as much noise as possible to attract the battle hungry monster. They got their wish. Sombra stood before them he looked to the leaders of the army. They gave him their demands. His only reply was a shake of his head. He would not surrender to them, not with Diana all alone. The girl came out of the small building and hid behind the large man's legs. The supreme commander guessing his thoughts made a deal with Sombra. If he agreed to surrender, he would only be imprisoned for five years, and the girl would be taken care of. With a downward look to Diana he agreed. The supreme commander walked to him and offered his hand to the girl. She looked at the hand shaking her head, but with gentle urging from Sombra she took it and joined them. But the supreme commander had no intention of honoring their agreement. With a snap of his fingers a soldier tossed her to the ground. Her screams were the catalysts for the rage, and new found strength.
He shouted to the heavens as his power burst all around him. The earth shook and split. Several seals appeared on his body as he charged through the ranks. Anyone who tried to get in his way was swatted aside like insects. His uncontrolled cries of anger alone spread fear to the thousands of hardened soldiers. The parted for him the best they could. He stopped only when he reached her. She had fallen on a blade of a soldier that died long ago.
He calmed down long enough to console her in her final moments. She was not scared like one would think. She smiled and assured him that she was with her parents again. When her last breath escaped her lips and her arm went limp. Tears and sorrow replaced the anger fists. He had let this happen to her
Sombra was not the only prisoner that was brought in that day. The supreme commander was seen as a war criminal himself and sentenced to a far harsher penalty for staining his rank and their coalitions honor. They gave him a chance to take a pardon. To go about his life, but he could not do that. He would not forsake Diana's memory that way. He agreed to be sealed in the cryogenic cell as was his agreement. He made the vow to atone for his sin once he was free. He didn't care about the hundreds or more lives he took in fighting, but the one innocent life he lost for nothing. As the cryogenic cell was closing he would have swore he saw Diana standing with the new commander and smiling waving him good bye.
Five long years have gone by to the people of the outside world, but to Sombra, it all felt like one long slumber. Sometimes he dreamt about his past fights, sometimes he dreamt about Diana, and sometimes he didn't dream at all just sat in the darkness of slumber. When the door finally opened and the ice melted away. He forced his body out of the position it was in for five years. He was escorted out of the facility by a few dozen guards. Before he left the facility, he had a request to make. He wanted them to provide him with a limiter that would seal his power until he found the right person or thing to use it against. Using a combination of dust and technology, the scientists developed the Enchanted Dragunov. they marked his body with tattoos and set the seals to be lifted only on Sombra's command. Sombra felt himself weakening. He was still very strong, but not as powerful as he could be. Once he was outside he took his first steps into a world that may or may not have changed. He decided to be a hunter and fight the creatures of grimm to help others. It was what Diana would have wanted he was sure.

| This man is ridiculously buff. But he has the smarts to back it up. His semblance is not unique, per se, but the inner-struggle with how he is unsure of his own resemblance with it. A hardened soldier is always interesting to see when placed among a team of greens. I wonder how this will go. | |
